Mental Health Monday Week 6

By Sadie De Arruda

Between school, clubs, and socializing, it’s important to take time each day for yourself to reset and reflect. Here’s a list of activities you can try this week to take some time for yourself. Complete them in any order you wish, or skip some if you prefer; it’s your choice.

  1. Do a random act of kindness.

  2. Finally read a book you’ve left on the shelf for a while.

  3. Remember to say please and thank you when people help you out.

  4. Make your lunch/pack your bag the night before, let yourself sleep an extra five minutes.

  5. Get outside for a walk, maybe bring someone along with you.

  6. Sort through your things, and get rid of what you don’t need.

  7. Listen to your favourite song before class today.

Grounding tool of the week:

Try counting backwards from 100 using multiples. For example, 100, 93, 86, 79, 72, and so on as you count backwards, removing seven each time. If this task becomes too distressing, you can always try to count using smaller numbers, or even just count down from 10.

Have a week, KSS!
