I slowly opened the hauntingly creaky front door. Tiptoeing in, I shut it behind me, took off my shoes, and carefully snuck up to my room. My door was completely silent. A perfect mission. Well, it would have been, but my mom was too smart for that. "Thought you could sneak out, eh? All right, what'd you do?" I swallowed my surprise and embarrassment before admitting I left to go help someone with their schoolwork. My mom looked at me sadly. "It's not your job to help them; you need your sleep." I'd already decided that helping others mattered more.
