The neighbourboy’s orange-drenched fingers 

stick to the walls like citruscolour paintbrushes, 

an even spread 

dripping down margarine canvas

glazed with sweet syrup 

setting in amber plaque not dissimilar 

to the dust-bathed mosquito on his desk

alongside goose-face coins and paper money and goose paper

all nested

in boy-made gold mine
