Thank you to everyone who submitted responses; you’re all very talented. But here are the results from the past few weeks.
For the caption this contest:
Congratulations to Ms. Siltanen
“Get your own sandwich”
For the poetry contest:
Congratulations to both Nate Loken and Claire Brackenbury
Nate’s poem:
Mr Hannah’s (imaginary) sock of quarters
Never seen
Never heard
It lingers behind locked doors
A cheerful extortion
Alluded to in laughter
As we wheeze and gasp
This invisible weapon,
This quarter pounder,
Socks insolent students
Claire’s poem:
I sit by the door, but don’t make a sound
I’m friends with the floor, and foes with wet ground
I’ll make you look stylish, comfy or tall
I’m cool in the summer, and warm in the fall
As you grow, I must be replaced
Though the places we’ve been remain interlaced;
Tied in a bow, or snapped with a buckle,
Just try to steer clear of those deep, muddy puddles!
Every trip, run, jump and fall;
I gave you support to get through it all
I have a guess for what Claire's poem is about!
