In School Support Systems

Hey there, KSS! As you all probably know by now, we have two amazing Adolescent Care Workers. Denis and Emma Jane offer the students of KSS confidential support in all things life related. If you are feeling overwhelmed, stressed or just need someone to talk to they are here for you. They also have access to community resources if you don't want to see someone at school. Their offices are located in Student Services on the main floor to the left of the main doors. Outside their office you can find a hygiene basket containing pads, tampons, condoms and deodorant, all of which are free for you to take as needed.

In addition to our Adolescent Care Workers, we also have other more specialized support workers. Dee is a social worker who offers confidential psychotherapy for students struggling with anxiety, depression and anything else mental health related. We also have our own KAIROS counsellor at KSS. Jake provides support for students who are struggling with drug or alcohol related problems whether it be themselves, friends or family members. Jake is here to talk to students about how to use drugs in a safe manner as well as help students reduce or quit their use of drugs and alcohol.
